On October 2, at the Waldorf-Astoria, in New York City, the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) honored four of the beauty industry’s most accomplished and high-achieving women at its annual Achiever Awards luncheon: Esi Eggleston Bracey, vice president-global cosmetics, P&G Beauty & Grooming; Terry Darland, president, North America, Christian Dior Parfums LLC; Veronique Gabai-Pinsky, global brand president, Aramis & Designer Fragrances, BeautyBank, IdeaBank, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and Nicky Kinnaird, president and founder, Space NK.

ICMAD Announces Winners in Young Designers’ Competition

The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) announced the top three winners of the 10th annual Young Designers’ Competition at an awards dinner held September 16, 2009, in New York City. Created by ICMAD in 1999, the competition showcases the design talent in personal care packaging at the university level. The goal of the competition is to encourage and develop young creative talent that will build the future of the cosmetics industry. Students are asked to create a product that could be completed for mass-market drugstores. For the first time, this year’s winners all came from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. First place winner was Meghan Seal, second place went to Dawid Tylka and third to Horacio Acevedo.
